Paving with NOxOFF
Sidewalk tiles with titanium dioxide that clean the air of NOx particles
We are still emitting huge amounts of nitrogen oxides, better known as NOx, into the air we breathe. This dangerous pollution comes from, among other sources, car exhausts. An easy and simple way to combat this pollution is to use sidewalk tiles with NOxOFF.
The top layer of the sidewalk tiles must be integrated with photocatalytically active titanium dioxide, with a maximum penetration of 3-5 mm, which enables the surface to decompose harmful pollutants, NOx, and VOC, using only nature's own resources - sun and water. The liquid containing titanium dioxide applied to the top layer must be a water-based, environmentally frindly product.
It's pure technology
IBF sidewalk tiles are produced as 2-layer concrete and are infused with titanium dioxide during the production process through a technique developed in collaboration with PHOTOCAT. When the sun rays hit the treated tile, the active substance in the ONxOFF surface is activated. The treatment captures, encapsulates, and decomposes the nitrogen oxides in the air with the help of sunlight. The decomposed particles are then washed away from the tiles with rainwater.
